What is the difference between syrup and jam? What is the difference between syrup and jam? Syrup and jam are both delicious fruit products, but differ in preparation, structure and use. Syrup is made by boiling fruit or fruit juice for a long time, creating a thick, concentrated syrup. It has a syrupy texture and is often made from fruits such as apples, pears or grapes. Syrup goes perfectly with savoury combinations such as cheese or meat, but also as a sweet touch on pancakes or bread.
Jam, on the other hand, is made by boiling fruit with sugar until it becomes a spreadable mass. The texture of jam is softer, with visible pieces of fruit, and it is usually made from fruits such as strawberries, apricots or blackberries. Jam is ideal as a spread on bread, toast or scones, but also delicious as a filling for pastries or topping for desserts.
Both products bring out the pure taste of fruit, but their applications are different. Syrup is thicker and more intense, while jam is fruitier and more versatile. Whether you choose syrup or jam, both are a delicious addition to your breakfast, lunch or drinks. Discover the difference and add a tasteful variation to your table with these fruity treats!
How do you ship fruit products? Our artisanal fruit products sometimes come in glass jars or bottles. Unfortunately, these are fragile. In order to still ship the products safely, the glass is well packed. It can withstand a knock or two.
