Ons Genot Bierkaas – Old artisanal cheese, perfect with a good glass of beer
Ons Genot Bierkaas is a tasty, artisanally prepared old cheese with a soft structure and a slightly sweet, fruity undertone. Although the name suggests otherwise, this cheese does not contain beer – but it has been specially developed to combine perfectly with your favourite special beer (or wine of course).

Cheese from Dutch soil
Ons Genot is prepared on a small-scale, artisanal basis at a Dutch cheese factory. The cheese is made from fresh milk from 300 cows that graze on 150 hectares of grassland. The farmer uses almost no concentrated feed; the cows mainly eat grass from their own soil, which has been specially sown with grass varieties with a high protein and sugar content. This ensures full, rich milk and therefore a particularly tasty cheese. During preparation, rennet is added, which contributes to the subtle sweet and fruity taste of the cheese.
After preparation, Ons Genot is matured for six months in our own warehouse. During this period, the cheese develops its powerful, matured taste, while still remaining soft and creamy. After maturing, the cheese gets a striking red crust, which ensures a recognisable and artisanal appearance.
