Leicoma sausages are not just any sausages. Leicoma is a breed of pig from East Germany, and this breed of pig was on the verge of extinction. Wouter Uwland and Caroliene Nieuwenhuizen took up the challenge and bought a pig farm near Halle in East Germany and continued breeding Leicoma pigs. They gave this breed new life and decided to sell these Leicoma products themselves.
The Leicoma pigs are kept in a sustainable way. This means that the pigs have a lot of living space, but also that the pigs are kept in a natural way and that no antibiotics are used.
The meat is lean, but has excellent marbling. This results in a strong taste. It is a beautiful product on the snack platter. The taste and the story will steal the show!
